Frequently Asked Questions

How much does therapy cost?

The initial intake appointment is $245 per 60-minute session. Subsequent therapy sessions are $195 per 45-minute session.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not take insurance and am considered an out-of-network provider. I am happy to provide a monthly superbill that you can use to submit a claim to your insurance for reimbursement. If you would like to contact your insurance provider to determine your benefits for out-of-network therapy, here are some questions you may want to ask them:

  • Does my plan include out-of-network psychotherapy services?

  • What is my deductible for out-of-network services and has it been met?

  • What is the usual and customary reimbursement rate for out-of-network therapy services (CPT codes 90834, 90837, and 90791)?

  • Do I need pre-authorization from the insurance provider or a referral from my primary care doctor in order to see a therapist?

  • Are there annual dollar limits, visit limits, or other coverage limits for my mental health benefits?

This is my first time in therapy. What happens next?

Great question, and I’m so glad you’re here! The first step is to request a free consultation call by completing the form on the Contact page. I will email you once I receive your request to schedule the 15-minute consultation call. On that call, I will tell you a little more about how I typically work with clients, learn about what brings you to therapy, and answer any questions you may have. We’ll use that call to see if working together may be a good fit and schedule our initial session. If for any reason it isn’t the right fit, I am happy to provide referrals to other clinicians that could be a good match.

How often would we meet for therapy sessions?

Typically, I meet with clients on a weekly or biweekly basis. Most of my clients have a weekly, standing appointment time where we meet on the same day and time each week. In our first few sessions, we’ll work together to determine goals for your therapy and set the most appropriate session frequency to help you achieve those goals. We can always revisit session frequency as needed.

How long can I expect to be in therapy?

The length of therapy really depends on you and what you're looking to achieve. Some folks start feeling better and making headway after just a few sessions, while others find that they benefit from long-term therapy to help them navigate life’s ups and downs. When we meet, I’ll chat with you about how long I think it might take to meet your goals and will check in with you along the way to make sure you're getting what you need. So, no pressure—just go at your own pace!

Do you offer in-person sessions?

At this time, I only offer telehealth sessions. I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform called SimplePractice. I will update my website if I offer in-person sessions in the future.
